Bugatti and Adidas have come together to create a limited edition football boot – and a release with a twist. The Adidas X Crazyfast Bugatti will be auctioned through the Adidas Collect Web 3 platform, and successful bidders will receive both a physical pair and a digital twin.
The Adidas X Crazyfast Bugatti will be produced in a limited run of just 99 pairs, all featuring flashes of Bugatti Blue, inspired by the color of early Bugatti Grand Prix cars.
The boots are engineered for speed and lightness. The X Crazyfast features a Speedframe sole plate, creating a light structure while also providing a rigid plate for rapid acceleration as well as an Aerocage – an engineered lining designed to provide support and stability by hugging the mid-foot – and a single-layer breathable monomesh, the Aeropacity Speedskin. The carbon fiber inlay in the boot’s tooling replicates the carbon fiber used on a car.
On the side of the boot are two phrases that have shaped the values of both companies: “Impossible is Nothing” for Adidas and “Create the Incomparable” to represent Bugatti.
The auction will run from Nov. 8-11, and afterward, all winners receive an exclusive digital shoebox which can be redeemed, from Nov. 13-27, via Adidas Collect. Although conducted using cryptocurrency, users have a direct on-ramp from the traditional currency in the auction using MoonPay.
