Adidas is planning to consolidate its French teams at a single new site in Paris by 2024. The company informed the 140 staff members at its French headquarters in Strasbourg on June 30. The move means that Adidas will leave France’s Grand Est region (formerly Alsace) after more than 60 years. Adidas has had offices in Paris since May 2017, in the 9th arrondissement, but according to regional newspaper Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace, the new national headquarters will be located elsewhere, in a new site near the Gare de l’Est railway station. The same newspaper had anticipated the news of the move on May 30, although it was not sure at the time whether the plan would actually go ahead. The current headquarters of Adidas France in Strasbourg, which opened in 2018 and is located next to the European Parliament in the Wacken neighborhood, is set to close in September 2024.
