In a rather original transaction, International Brands Licensing has disposed of its trademarks for Admiral worldwide. Admiral is now owned by eight independent companies, including five former licensees.
Diethnis Athlitiki of Athens is in charge of Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Moldova and Albania. LGB Distributors of Johannesburg will take care of business in South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Mozambique, Madagascar and Nigeria. Japan is being handled by IPGI of Tokyo, while Sydney-based Soccer Shirts International has Australia and New Zealand. Admiral Asia in Kuala Lumpur handles the business in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Laos, Vietnam, Azerbajan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. Well Team of Hong Kong has China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Korea. North, Central and South America, including the Caribbean, are under the auspices of Admiral Sportswear LLC, based in Surfside, Florida.
And the driver of all of them, as it is located in the home market, will be Admiral Sportswear Ltd. of Manchester, England, taking care of the U.K., Ireland, the Middle East, North Africa and the parts of mainland Europe outside of Diethnis Athlitiki's territory.
International Brands Licensing, which has been renamed EKF Diagnostics Holdings, remains a consultancy based in Switzerland and run by Tony Hutchison, a former top manager of Umbro International.
