After expanding its unique click-and-mortar retail operation (see our previous issue), Rossignol will open a 30-square-meter store in French ski resort of Chamonix for its apparel line at the end of this month, with a lease for two years. Similar stores are opening through franchisees in Austria, at Kirchberg and Obertaurn. There will soon be a factory outlet for the line in Paris. Bruno Cercley, president and chief executive of the Rossignol Group, says there are no plans to offer any hardware in these mono-brand mountain stores. He said at a convention earlier this week that the group is working on a possible counter-seasonal diversification into fishing, cycling or water sports.
