Alfa Sko and A-Sport, which has held the Alfa license to develop and sell ski boots for extremely harsh weather conditions since 2006, are merging into a single company called Alfa Sko AS. Pål Olimb, a former marketing director of Alfa and major shareholder and general manager of A-Sport, will be the new chief executive of the company. Olimb and his family will share ownership of the new company with Katalysator, the Norwegian equity fund that is the current owner of Alfa Sko. The merged company is to become one of Norway's largest shoe manufacturers with an estimated yearly turnover of 100 million Norwegian kroner (€12.7m-17.9m)).
