Alfred Eichblatt, managing director of Hervis, a leading Austrian sporting goods chain, firmly denied rumors about the potential sale of the company. He said that any speculations on a sale by its owner, Spar Österr. Warenhandels-AG, was bare of any foundation. Hervis is a successful part of Spar Österr. Warenhandels-AG, he said. Recognized as a well-established big player in Europe's sporting goods retailing, Hervis will remain a 100 percent subsidiary of Spar in the future, Eichblatt added.
