Almost 6,500 pairs of counterfeit Nike and Converse sports shoes were seized at the Puces de Saint-Ouen flea market, in the north of Paris, at the beginning of October. In addition to the 6,270 pairs of fake Nike and 150 pairs of fake Converse the police, accompanied by two employees of the American sports brands, seized t-shirts and socks and confiscated €3,910 in cash. With more than 5 million visitors per year, the flea market of the Puces de Saint-Ouen is said to be the biggest market for antiques and second-hand goods in the world.
