Amazon has announced that it will stop supporting Halo, effective July 31, 2023. In practical terms, it means that beginning on Aug. 1, 2023, Halo devices and the Halo app will no longer function. The decision was due to “significant headwinds, including an increasingly crowded segment and an uncertain economic environment,” The Verge has reported. Customers have been informed that if they want to download or delete their Halo health data or save their scan images, they can do so from the app. Remaining Halo health data will be deleted after Aug. 1, 2023. Customers will be fully refunded for purchase(s) made in the preceding 12 months of the Halo View health tracker, Halo Band, Halo Rise, and Halo accessory bands. Any unused prepaid Halo subscription fees will also be refunded. The decision to shut down the Halo division will result in staff reductions, Amazon said.
