Amer Sports has invested about €150,000 in its production and logistic operations for winter sports products in Altenmarkt, Austria, according to various German media. The investments concern mainly new ergonomic and partially automated transportation and lifting equipment and are meant to increase productivity and quality control. The Alternmarkt production unit reportedly turns out about 400,000 pairs of alpine skis and 150,000 pairs of cross-country skis each year under the Atomic and Salomon brands. It currently employs 1,850 people. Other production entities are located in Bulgaria, France, Romania and Hungary.
