An appeals board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has agreed with Acushnet Company that the four patents involved in the long-running dispute with Callaway Golf are invalid. Callaway originally filed its lawsuit in February 2006 saying that Acushnet's Titleist Pro V1 ball infringed those patents. In March 2010, they were ruled invalid by a U.S. District Court. Both the decision of the Board of Patent Appeals and the court can be appealed.
