Andrés de la Dehesa, chief executive of Codesport and currently vice president of Afydad, the Spanish sporting goods industry association, has filed his candidacy to become its new president. The election will take place on March 15, and as of a few days ago, he was the only candidate that was officially presented by Afydad. The current president, Xavier Berneda, has already announced his decision not to stand for re-election. He ran the association for eight years, and de la Dehesa was vice president for the same term. De la Dehesa has run Codesport since 2005, and he has successfully developed a high-tech internet platform for brands and retailers, Sportmas, which got high visibility in the new digital area of Ispo Munich last month. Previously, he was the marketing director of Sport Panel, working closely with Jaume Ferrer, the founder and editor of the Trade Sport magazine, with whom he launched a management software system for sports retailers, Gescode.
