Another 1.9 million bales of cottons will be exported from India after being cleared by the government in the wake of its ban on raw cotton exports. The applications for export were submitted before the ban went into place on March 5. No plans have been made for new export registration applications to be approved, and it has been reported that government won't be allowing any new exports in the 2011-12 marketing year, ending in September, to make sure there is plenty of cotton for domestic needs. The latest production figures are to be reviewed shortly.
