Anta Sports Products and Hyatt Hotels Corp. have announced plans to open the first Fila-branded hotel in Shanghai, China. The Fila House Shanghai will be part of the JdV by Hyatt brand and the first Fila branded hotel in the world. According to Hyatt, the JdV by Hyatt brand comprises a collection of independent hotels that embrace its namesake (joie de vivre), by inviting guests and locals alike to connect and celebrate the joy of life. Fila was established in Biella, Italy in 1911, and is owned today by China-based Anta, which is also the owner of other international sports brands like Descente (Japan), Kolon (Korea), and Sprandi (U.K.) as well as sub-brands like Anta Kids, Fila Kids, Fila Fusion and Fila Athletics. Fila House Shanghai will be developed as part of Anta Group’s new Shanghai headquarters in the city’s West Hongqiao business district. The complex, including Fila House Shanghai, is expected to open by 2024.
