ANWR, the big buying group for shoe retailers and Sport 2000's licensee for Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg, wants to acquire the remaining outstanding shares of Garant Schuh + Mode, another buying group for shoe retailers. Additionally, Garant has sporting goods retail members under the Fair Play banner, mainly in the Benelux countries, Switzerland and Germany. In 2010, ANWR acquired 70 percent of Garant through its subsidiary called ANWR Garant International AG (AGI), which currently holds 90.42 percent of Garant's shares (more in Shoe Intelligence).
