As it continues to reap the benefits of its improved ranges and the Chinese market's clean-up, 361 Degrees said that orders increased at a high single-digit rate in value at its wholesale fair in December, compared with the same event in 2014. Orders have been on the rise for eight quarters in a row. The increase in orders for the fall 2016 range chiefly came from footwear, with rises in volume and in average selling prices. The largest share of the order growth went to functional and performance-driven products, in categories such as running, cross training and outdoor footwear. Apparel orders only increased marginally in volume, while average selling prices decreased.
