As we had expected, Decathlon has announced the construction of a third logistic center in Germany, where the retailer is expanding strongly (see our previous issue). It will be located in the VGB Park of Berlin to service its stores in the northern and eastern parts of the country including the one opened in Dresden a few days ago. Construction has already started and will be completed in the spring of 2020. The new distribution center will measure a total of 45,000 square meters including offices and will employ up to 700 people. It will be brought into operation in two phases, the first one comprising a 5,000-sqm. office and 30,000 sqm. for inventories.
