Asics Europe has moved its head office to Beukenhorst-Zuid, an ecologically sustainable business park in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. The 5,000-square-meter office, which opened for business on Nov. 23, accommodates the 220 employees of Asics Europe and Asics Benelux, as well as the northern European sales off with showrooms, and has room to grow in case it needs to expand. The headquarters was custom-designed, and as a way to encourage employees to lead a healthy lifestyle, includes a fitness center with changing area and showers. The office is eco-friendly, with heating and cooling managed locally through bio-cogeneration plants, and a bio-fuel generator under the building provides green energy for Asics as well as the neighboring building. Solar panels heat the building's water. Cepezed was the architecture firm on the project; OVG was the developer.
