Japanese sportswear firm Asics Corp. has been selected for the ninth consecutive year as a component company of the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia/Pacific Index (DJSI Asia/Pacific). The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), jointly determined by S&P Dow Jones Indices and ESG assessment company SAM, measure the performance of companies selected with ESG criteria. The DJSI Asia/Pacific Index covers companies in the Asia and Oceania region. Asics was ranked in the top 5 percent of the global assessed companies in the industry.
In addition, Asics has received the Commendation for Climate Change Action for 2023 from Japan’s Minister of the Environment. Through the Commendation for Climate Change Action program, the Japanese Ministry of the Environment honors individuals or organizations for their outstanding achievements in initiatives to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Minako Yoshikawa, senior general manager of Asics Corp.’s sustainability division, attended the reward ceremony in the presence of Japan’s Vice-Minister of the Environment, Tetsuya Yagi.
