Bauer Hockey, a subsidiary of Performance Sports Group, has announced it will open its first Bauer Hockey store, called “Own The Moment,” in the Boston suburb of Burlington, Massachusetts, in late summer. A second location will start up in the Minneapolis area in the autumn. The company currently plans an additional 6-8 Bauer retail experiences over the next several years in key hockey markets across the U.S. and Canada. The stores will be equipped with advanced fitting protocols as well as educational tools to introduce beginners to the sport. Also, each store will offer customers the opportunity to try-before-you-buy on an indoor ice rink inside the store. Each store will host events and initiatives for players, parents and the hockey community at large. The company expects its retail operations to be profitable within the next 18-24 months.
