Belle International, the leading Chinese footwear and sports retailer, saw an increase of 4.6 percent in the comparable store sales of its sportswear and apparel stores in mainland China for the third quarter of its fiscal year, compared with a comparable store sales decline of 13.4 percent for the group's shoe retail outlets. The unaudited figures were provided as part of a brief operational update for the three months to the end of November. Belle had 20,630 stores in mainland China at the end of the quarter, which was an increase of 30 compared with the same time in 2015. The network consisted of 13,145 shoe stores and 7,485 sportswear and apparel stores, all of them managed directly by the group.
