Less than a year after his appointment, Benoit Verdier has resigned as general manager of French sporting goods retailer Go Sport. The retailer’s 2,160 employees received the news of his departure on Dec. 1 “without any explanation,” according to French newspaper Le Monde. Verdier became general manager of Go Sport in February of this year, as reported at the time by SGI Europe.

Go Sport has been part of the portfolio of Hermione People & Brands (HPB) since December 2021. Wilhelm Hubner and Samuel Alimi, the chairman and vice-president of HPB respectively, have taken over Verdier’s functions.
