Bernard Liatti, who runs Vuarnet Sport, says his company is discussing various options for its future collaboration with Vuarnet International with regard to the Vuarnet line of activewear, for which it signed a licensing contract in July 2011. Pending an agreement, Sonoma, the Romanian factory that has been manufacturing the line for a long time, will continue to handle deliveries of the winter 2012-13 collection, but it's unclear who will take the orders for the next season. Denying a press report that Vuarnet Sport was in financial trouble ? it was only a temporary cash squeeze, he says ? Liatti points out that his company managed to raise orders for Vuarnet activewear by 39 percent outside Italy, which was the biggest market for the brand. Vuarnet Sport continues to license the Vuarnet brand for skis, ski helmets and gloves, with many new products due to be presented to the trade shortly.
