A Swiss-based supplier specializing in sports preparation and recovery products, Blackroll, is the newest partner of the German Tennis Federation (DTB). With immediate effect, Blackroll will equip all four DTB national bases in Hanover, Kamen, Stuttgart and Oberhaching with products from the areas of activation and regeneration. This is intended to create new opportunities for professional preparation and follow-up of training programs and matches, especially for DTB players and the national coaches. In addition, many junior athletes affiliated with the umbrella organization will also receive Blackroll training equipment, with which they can work independently of their training in the performance centers. The history of Blackroll began in 2007 with the foam roller, which Jürgen Dürr developed and produced in Germany with a protected design. Six years later, the company was restructured by Marius Keckeisen and Blackroll AG was founded. In the meantime, the product range has been extended to include recovery pillows, fitness bands and other premium workout tools. The range is available on its multi-language website and in 37 countries. The products are made in Germany. The company won a German Design Award and an ISPO Award in 2020.
