Bob Meistrell, who co-founded Body Glove together with his twin brother Bill in 1953, died last June 16 of an apparent heart attack in his yacht Diappearance, near Catalina Island in California, following a paddleboard race. He was 84 years old. He and Bill, who died in 2006, moved to Southern California as teenagers and developed neoprene wetsuits, using insulating material from the back of refrigerators. To market them, they bought the Dive N' Surf shop in Redondo Beach and set up Body Glove International there. In passing, Bob taught celebrities how to dive. His son, Robbie, is now the chief executive of Body Glove, which generates annual revenues of over $200 million.
