Bode Miller has filed a lawsuit against Head in a federal court in Los Angeles. The skier is currently planning to return to professional ski racing but a termination agreement signed with Head USA in 2015 prevents him from racing competitively on another company's equipment for two years. Miller's new sponsor is Bomber Ski, a new company of which he is a partial owner. Miller signed a termination agreement of his endorsement contract with Head in May 2015 after his leg injury during the Super-G at Beaver Creek, Colorado. The athlete had been skiing with Head since 2006. Head agreed to release him from his contract based on his intention to stop competing, and on the condition that if he changed his mind, he would compete in World Cup or World Championship racing until the end of the 2016/17 using exclusively Head skis, boots and bindings. Johan Eliasch, chairman and chief executive of Head, said he is truly disappointed with Bode's intention to breach that agreement, adding that if the skier wants to return to World Cup racing, it will have to be on Head equipment.
