Italian sportswear brand Macron is the new technical partner of Mjällby AIF, the professional football club based in Hällevik. It is Macron’s first agreement in the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top football league. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, and for five seasons, Macron will supply game kits, technical sportswear and a line of merchandise to all the club’s teams. Mjällby AIF was created in 1939 from two clubs, Listers IF and Hälleviks IF. Mjällby AIF won promotion to the Allsvenskan in the late 1970s and reached the finals of the Swedish Cup in 2022-23.

Macron is also landing in Argentina’s Primera División as the new technical sponsor of Vélez Sarsfield. The historic club, known as El Fortín, is based in Liniers, a barrio of Buenos Aires. The team will wear Macron technical apparel and customized clothing for the 2025 season. Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield was founded in 1910 by a group of young men of Italian origin. In the 1990s, the club won nine national and international titles. Under the leadership of head coach Carlos Bianchi, it won three Argentine championships and, in 1994, the historic double of Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup.

Macron, headquartered in Valsamoggia, near Bologna, sponsors over 90 professional clubs across multiple sports and leagues. It also has a network of nearly 170 mono-brand stores. The brand will make its debut in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2025 as an apparel partner of Connecticut United FC in a new long-term agreement.
