Nike is partnering with the Centre Pompidou to celebrate sports and culture. The US brand will transform the art center’s façade into a canvas that showcases stories of sport. Nike will also open its “Art of Victory” exhibition on July 24, celebrating the journey of Nike Air innovation at the site that inspired the design of the Air Max 1 nearly 40 years ago, explained the brand. In addition, Centre Pompidou will host a series of sports experiences for all.
Art of Victory will be open from July 24 to Aug. 11 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris’ 4th arrondissement. During this period, access to the exhibitions and permanent collection will be free for those under 26. Meanwhile, a daily program will celebrate sports through basketball, running, football, skating and breakdance experiences.
A public and skateable sculpture called “Cycloïd Piazza” invites the public to engage with art in a new way. The skatepark, part sculpture and part skate grounds, was designed by French artist Raphael Zarka with the collaboration of architect Jean-Benoît Vétillard. Centre Pompidou commissioned it with the support of Nike.
