Swiss performance brand On will present its LightSpray technology at Kraftwerk Berlin from Sept. 19 to 21, 2025, through a public event combining innovation, art and sport. The installation, called On Labs Berlin, showcases how the brand merges design and technology through interactive exhibitions, live product demonstrations and cultural programming. The centerpiece is the LightSpray robot, which creates the upper of On’s Cloudboom Strike LS racing shoe in just three minutes using a single thread. Visitors can watch the process live and purchase the shoe, a model worn by elite athletes such as Hellen Obiri and Samuel Fitwi.

“Berlin is the perfect place for us: a city where creativity meets technological progress,” said Bianca Pestalozzi-Houchangnia, General Manager EMEA at On.

Alongside the shoe technology, multidisciplinary artist Boris Acket will present his installation Architecting Lightness, a kinetic textile sculpture animated by air, designed to reflect the theme of minimalism and movement.

The three-day program also features community workouts, panel discussions, a running challenge and a Friday night collaboration with Berlin label Heisss. A pop-up store will offer exclusive product drops, including the Cloudboom Strike LS in a White/Raspberry colorway, retailing for €330.

LightSpray reduces the number of shoe upper production steps from 200 to one and cuts related carbon emissions by 75 percent compared to previous On competition models.

Registration for sessions opens Sept. 5 via the brand’s website.
