“Go Wild” is the big running campaign for Puma that really gets attention right now.
Puma hopes its latest brand campaign, “Go Wild,” shows “runners rearranging their lives to chase the highs of running” and “unleash their true selves and discover greatness in their nature.”
The first video ad, the “‘Go Wild’ hero film,” takes a 25-year-old song about getting stoned – Afroman’s “Because I Got High” – and applies it to the endorphin hit of running, known as the runner’s high. The runners in it are everyday Joes and Janes who stand out for their devotion to running – the kind of people who leap over the turnstile at the office and ride the lift up in a sweat.
Later releases will “explain” the campaign through the “stories” of Puma’s endorsers, like Tommie Smith, Usain Bolt and Mondo Duplantis.
