Brian Montgomery, the charismatic Irish executive who led the European Bicycle Manufacturers Association (EBMA) for many years, has passed away. He was 81 years old. Gentle but firm, Montgomery was instrumental in protecting the European bike industry for more than 30 years through anti-dumping duties and other measures against China and other Asia countries. Montgomery worked for BH in Spain and for Cycleurope in France. At the same time he ran Colibi in the 1980s and founded the EBMA in 1990.
