Britain's Halfords Group reports a 5.7 percent increase in sales on a comparable store basis for its cycling group in the fourth quarter of its financial year, ended March 30. The progress came on top of an 8.7 percent increase in the same period a year ago and was driven by premium and children's bicycles. Total sales of leisure products, including camping tents and other outdoor items, grew by 2.2 percent on a same-store basis. As for its other business units, car maintenance grew by 3.1 percent, but car enhancement, which involves the installation of aftermarket products, declined by 14.5 percent.
