British Rowing and British Triathlon have announced a partnership to cross-promote and align their activities on the integration of British Rowing's Go Row Indoor within British Triathlon's Go Tri Gym Challenge product. The new partnership is meant to help both governing bodies increase their respective number of participants. British Rowing aims to increase the number of people participating in indoor rowing in the U.K. by ten percent over four years, while British Triathlon expects to encourage 25,000 people to register for Go Tri by April 2019. Go Row Indoor is the name for British Rowing's indoor rowing strategy. The biggest event is the British Rowing Indoor Championships. The upcoming edition of the event will take place on Dec. 9 at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London. British Triathlon's Go Tri product is designed as a fun way for people to experience triathlon for the first time. For those who are not ready to participate in outdoor triathlon, the Go Tri Gym offers in-gym training delivered by triathlon-trained coaches to practice swimming, cycling and running. As part of the agreement, British Triathlon will include Go Row Indoor components within the Go Tri Gym training product and associated resources. British Triathlon will also promote indoor rowing as an alternative third discipline within existing Go Tri events when swimming can be an obstacle, because there is no pool access or where the swimming element is considered to be a barrier by the participant.
