Britney Obstar, a former senior marketing manager at Adidas America, has been sentenced to one year and one day in jail by a U.S. district judge for organizing a fraud scheme that cost Adidas $336,000. Obstar was ordered to pay full restitution to Adidas, and to serve three years of supervised release upon her release from prison. She had previously admitted that she had submitted invoices for a company formed by her brother-in-law and his partner for marketing services that were never performed for Adidas. Some of the money was transferred to a company formed by Obstar's husband, and used by the couple to pay off car loans and credit card debt.
