Brooks Sports found more than 700 pairs of counterfeit shoes at an Australian warehouse of the retailer Paul's. Earlier this year, Brooks suspected the retailer of actively seeking out counterfeit products to sell, so requested action by the government to make an unannounced raid on the warehouse to seize all products and test them for authenticity. As part of the resulting settlement, all inventory had to be returned to the suppliers and Paul's paid a significant sum to Brooks. The retailer also promised to buy Brooks footwear and apparel only from authorized factories and distribution partners going forward.
