BSI, the German sporting goods industry federation, has conducted a survey among its members showing that almost 75 percent assess the current market situation as good or very good, while about 25 percent are satisfied and 3 percent evaluate it as bad. About 71 percent of BSI's members stated that their sales increased in 2016, as compared to the previous year, while 9 percent recorded stable sales and 18 percent recorded a decline. More than 30 percent have increased the number of their employees, while only about 9 percent reduced their staff. About 30 percent plan to hire more employees in 2017. The number of BSI's members has risen to a total of 150 firms.
