Building on the success of the Surfing China organization and the China Action Sports Exhibition trade show, a group of action sports companies operating in China have formed a trade association, called S3 for Surf, Skate, Snow. One of aims is to raise participation in action and board sports. S3 will be run by Andrew Manly. While he is based in the U.K., he has more than 25 years of experience in running international trade organizations and over 15 years of experience with Chinese business methods. The association wants to conduct market research and work with local retailers, governments and other organizations in China to promote these sports and establish better facilities for them. The International Association of Skateboard Companies is involved in this initiative.
