Burton’s new snowboarding apparel incorporates Gore-Tex fabrics and is named after the postal abbreviation for Alaska. The Ak line has received Bluesign approval and purports to combine waterproofing and breathability with style. The first items are the Ak 457 Gore JP Jacket and JP Bib, made with a three-layer 70D nylon Gore-Tex RGD Pro Shell, Gore-Seam tape and YKK zippers. The jacket has a teardrop StormForm hood and an elastic gaiter at the waist. The 457 designation, incidentally, refers to the radio frequency used by mountain guides on the Japanese island of Hokkaido.
