Burton Snowboards has sold DNA Distribution, a company that supplies skateboards and accessories under the Alien Workshop, Habitat and Reflex brand names, to Rob Dyrdek, an American television star and entrepreneur. Now a wealthy individual, he has been skateboarding for 20 years and had been originally sponsored by that company. Burton bought DNA Distribution in a diversification move in 2008. Chris Carter, general manager and co-founder of DNA, will continue to oversee the company in Dayton, Ohio, while Dyrdek will consult on marketing and creative issues from his office in Los Angeles.
