Canada Goose has opened a pop-up location on New Cathedral Street in the English city of Manchester. The pop-up is hosting an installation for the senses called “Live in the Open,” with a storytelling platform, to urge “the community to connect with the world around outside;” an exhibition of photographs, called Life of Forests, by Brendan George Ko; and a soundscape of forest bathing by the artist Joseph Murray. The brand has also packed about half a million wildflower seeds – from such varieties as meadow buttercup, musk mallow and self heal – into leaflets of entirely compostable material. It has attached them to billboards around the city for passers-byes to take and plant directly into the soil. The pop-up marks the launch by Canada goose of the Puffer jacket, made with a recycled fabric called Feather-Light Ripstop, and the Pastels collection. Moreover, this season’s women’s wear incorporates another recently adopted fabric, Performance Satin, which is designed to be durable and soft.
