Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) has launched its first own activewear label, called Forward With Design (FWD), which was designed, developed and engineered in-house. CTC is a Canadian group of companies that includes a retail segment, a financial services division and a real estate investment trust. In the sports business, the group is best known for its retail banners, including SportChek, Hockey Experts, Sports Experts and Atmosphere, and as the owner and operator of Helly Hansen, the Norwegian technical outdoor brand. According to CTC, the FWD apparel “was built from the ground up in just over 900 days from concept ideation to full brand launch. The goals were to design and deliver world-class products that reinforce emotional connections with customers and create a brand that transitions seamlessly wherever life takes Canadians.” That means the apparel will be available exclusively in Canada at 200 SportChek and Sports Experts stores across the country and their online stores. It will launch with three collections: Push, Friday and Free. The company said that each of these collections is functional and incorporates sustainable fabrics and responsible production methods, combined with style, comfort, and convenience.
