Carl-August Seibel and Philip Seibel will open a sneaker store, called Fourty Tree, in Hauenstein on July 22. Covering 200 square meters, the store will feature apparel and shoes of brands such as Adidas, Puma, Nike, Reebok and Diadora. Carl-August Seibel is the chief executive of the Josef Seibel Group, owner of the Josef Seibel, Romika and Gerry Weber shoe brands. The group has its headquarters in Hauenstein. Philip Seibel already manages another sports and sneaker store, Jump'N'Shoez, in Hauenstein. Carl-August Seibel and Philip Seibel, who are not related, are planning to expand the new store concept in the future, if it is successful. The Seibel group has 12 stores, mostly outlet stores, and online stores for the Josef Seibel and Romika brands. Hauenstein is said to be a “German shoe village,” with 26 shoe stores on its “shoe mile.” In 2006 Carl-August Seibel opened the ShoeCity outlet center with nine shoe outlet stores. While stores in Germany have generally to be closed on Sundays, all shoe stores in Hauenstein are open seven days a week from March to October.
