Changing its management structure, Fedas, the European sports retailers' federation, now has two presidents. Michael Nendwich, who became managing director of the Austrian sporting goods industry federation (VSSÖ) in 2008, joins Werner Haizmann, who has held the post for 21 years and continues to run the German sports retailers' federation (VDS). Nendwich will be in charge of projects and the daily business. Karin Höcker remains as secretary general. Fedas wants to become a more relevant part of the European sporting goods business, collecting better data about the market and helping retailers in the digitalization process. Together with Fesi, the Federation of the European sporting goods industry, it intends to apply for an Erasmus program, funded by the European Commission, to enhance the professional training of European sports retailers.
