Charlie Denson, president of the Nike brand, will become a honorary doctor of Utah State University, where he graduated in 1979. After graduation, he started a 30-year career at Nike as an assistant store manager at The Athletics Department in Portland, Oregon, which was Nike's first store. He later ran Nike's European operations and pioneered the brand's growth in China, India and Brazil, among other assignments. Denson will be the commencement speaker at the university's 126th graduation ceremony on May 4.
