As of April 10, China will impose a 34-percent tariff on all products imported from the US, according to Xinjua.

The Middle Kingdom has decided to retaliate after US President Donald Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs,” announced on April 2 and much discussed ever since. As of April 10, according to state news agency Xinjua, China will be imposing an additional tariff of 34 percent on all products imported from the US.

For China’s Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, Trump’s tariffs defy international trade rules, undermine China’s rights and interests, jeopardize the global supply chains and represent, as Xinjua puts it, “a typical act of unilateral bullying.”

Existing bonded policies, tax reductions and exemptions will not be affected, and the new tariffs will not be reduced or exempted.
