Chinese sporting goods manufacturers' sales rose by 8 percent to 58.02 billion yuan renmimbi (€7,298.60m-$9,447.67m) in the six months ended June 30, according to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Their gross profits increased by 20 percent to RMB2.06 billion (€259.18m-$335.46m), indicating relatively low margins. Almost half of the production was sold abroad as the industry's exports reached RMB26.02 billion (€3,273.64m-$4,237.19m), a 12.5 percent increase from the first half of 2013.
