CMD Sports reports that the Enebe group filed for bankruptcy protection in a court of Alicante on July 22, adding that the Spanish producer of table tennis equipment is now run by a court-appointed receiver, Vicente Puchol. In 2010, the company made a diversification into the world of paddle tennis, a typically Hispanic sport that seems to have reached a saturation point in Spain lately. Enebe continued its diversification last year with the introduction of “smart clothing” and accessories. The group's turnover was last reported at €6.5 million in 2015.
