(OIC) At its meeting of Jan. 24, the board of directors of Columbia Sportswear appointed as its chairman the company’s long-standing president and chief executive, Tim Boyle, who is now 70 years old. He takes the place on the board that was previously occupied by his “tough mother,” Gert Boyle, who died on Nov. 3 at the age of 95. Columbia’s board also formalized the post of lead independent director and filled it with one of its long-time members, Andy Bryant. Bryant was the chairman of Intel from May 2012 to January 2020 and will be leaving its board after the company’s 2020 annual stockholders’ meeting. He has served on Columbia’s board since 2005 and chairs the nominating and corporate governance committee.
