Athletico Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm, has announced the formation of Athletico Ventures Collective#1, its first collective investment vehicle. More than 40 elite athletes from various sports, technology figures, corporate executives and investors are involved in the collective. The list includes renowned names like French footballer and World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann, Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier, senior sports executives like Andrew Georgiou of WarnerBros Discovery, top-tier investors like Martin Mignot of Index Ventures, and many others. Athletico Ventures was established in 2020 by former Sportfive executive Arthur Bernard. The firm assists elite athletes in investing in promising start-ups along with tier 1 investors. Before forming Athletico Ventures Collective#1, the athletes’ investments were pooled by Athletic Ventures on a per-deal basis.
