Italian group BasicNet will open its “Basic Village” in Milan on Sep. 21 during Fashion Week. The 4,500-square meter space will feature offices, showrooms, restaurants, commercial activities and lofts. BasicNet Group is the parent company of the Kappa, K-Way, Sebago and Superga brands. K-Way accounts for 65 to 70 percent of its overall turnover. The group opened its first Basic Village in Turin, which houses its headquarters, 25 years ago. The concept, now being replicated in Milan, has required an investment of between €15 million and €20 million, the group’s vice-president Lorenzo Boglione told FashionNetwork.com in an interview. BasicNet Group has seen its net income increase from €4.1 million in the first half of last year to €10.7 million in the six-month period ended June 30, 2022.
