Colizey, a French marketplace for sporting goods launched in 2019, is planning to move abroad in 2022, following a new round of financing worth €8 million. Existing and new investors such as Teddy Riner, the French judo champion, have participated in the fund-raising, joining the French-American basketball champion Tony Parker and Cathay Innovation, Aglaé Venture and Cassius Family. Thanks in part to last year’s Covid lockdowns, Colizey has come to host some 110 retailers on its platform, and it is targeting 500 retail partners by the end of 2022. It wants to increase the number of products it offers from 220,000 to more than one million, covering other sports categories. It currently carries some 1,000 sports brands, including Adidas, covering 27 sports. Colizey had already collected €2.5 million through a previous round of financing in May 2020.
